Is there really any universal issue of Sovereignty?

i can agree that satan doesn't see god as a good ruler as stated at gen 3:1-5. he doesn't seem to see gods laws as right or good.

but whether there is an understanding/agreement between god and satan afterward to the effect that he can take the mantle of rulership to show whether his style is best is doubtful.

that conclusion is probably reached because god hasn't destroyed satan, and he is also called the ruler of the world in the bible.

Here is the issue, when god feels challenged in the Bible he often punished swiftly and immediately. When the ark was about to fall or when someone did a census or entered the holiest of holy in the temple or when the watchers came to earth to copulate with women, Tower of Babel etc etc

So why is it that even angels are punished quickly, but Satan is the exception (according to Adventist views).

In that light, wouldn’t that prefer the original Jewish view that Satan does not exist as an entity but rather evil is an aspect of God himself, God rewards and God punishes. You can even have the view described in Job that it is Gods will for people to suffer where Satan is a Prosecutor, an agent of God that searches out the individual's wrongdoings and appears as their accuser.

Note the KJV translation of the Bible (as we know it today and which the WTBTS supposedly references) makes no reference to the Nephilim being fallen angels, or that the flood was intended to remove them.

As far as names, Semjaza was the leader of this group (if I recall correctly, appointed by God to be the watchers) and came out of the Sons of God (not from the Shedim or Jinn as the WTBTS claims) and there were 200 of them, during the flood they left their bodies behind (as depicted in the Bible Story book) were subsequently cast into Tartarus. So according to this account, there have been multiple rebellions in heaven, one by Sheitan (Satan) and one by Semjaza.

According to 2 Chronicles and 2 Samuel though, David and his men were the one that defeated these “descendants of Rapha in Gath”

The Nephilim being the offspring of humans and demons and leaving their bodies in the flood to then re-join Satan is a very modern re-interpretation trying to read stories about giants in the Torah as a literal source and not allegorical.

Both of those narratives and relatively accurate depictions in WTBTS Bible Story book/publications are ONLY found in apocryphal books (Book of Enoch and Jubilees).

Even if they had mental health professionals, which some here claim (but I have never seen that, neither at Selters nor at Warwick), those would be, like the rest of their workforce, also JWs. I know there are JW psychiatrists, the problem with that is you can’t truly be open, so you’re lying to the people supposed to help you. Beyond that, any admission of weakness or sin would result in a report going up to your elders.

Having implemented and performed the standardized psychometric tests, EVERY true believer like the ones at Bethel would be immediately diagnosed with DID and PTSD (frequent and interfamilial emotional trauma, dissociative amnesia, persistent negative ideas about self and the world, detachment from family and society) with dissociative behaviors because of the derealization and depersonalization that is required to be embedded at that level in the cult.

I guess we just have to wait until the next “local needs” broadcast to find out what really happened. Perhaps it will be about drunkenness, perhaps it will be about diddling children, perhaps about not being drunk while you’re diddling children.

@joey: in Chicago you currently cannot own a gun until you are 21, it is illegal to own any semi-auto (which covers most handguns and most modern rifles), shortened shotguns, AR15, anything that has attachments, anything with more than 10 rounds or other home defense weapons.

For the few remaining weapons, which would be single shot rifles, revolvers and derringers, you are required to submit yourself to an investigation, perform a 16 hour training course and then anyone (your neighbor, family, law enforcement) can simply say that you are a danger to yourself or others and immediately your second amendment rights are terminated upon review by an unelected review panel that isn’t liable to any branch of government.

At any point you have the gun outside your house, it must be completely concealed, your gun most be broken down, locked up and unloaded, carrying a gun even with a difficult to obtain license is illegal in all public transport, restaurants, bars, stadiums, parks, library, museum, stores, pretty much ANYWHERE you go.

Yeah, it’s pretty hard to obtain and carry a firearm in Chicago, and the crime rates are accordingly high and going higher as lawful citizens cannot defend themselves. Even the EU (directive 2021/555) doesn’t have quite such stringent gun laws.

I know a pioneer that got a gun hole in his car during service near his gas tank. He was very proud about how Yah protected him, although even if it hit his tank, it wouldn’t have blown up the car (Mythbusters tested that).

In regards gun laws, this person was already not permitted to have a gun, this happened near Chicago, an area with the most stringent gun laws in the world (even worse than Europe). The kid shot from a car he wasn’t allowed to drive, shot a gun he wasn’t allowed to have. My opinion this was a dumb mistaken identity, our Witless was likely driving a car very similar to another drug dealer or opponent gang member, because we all know Witlesses nor gangbangers can afford to drive anything nice.

Where are his parents, why wasn’t he in school? Why aren’t the JWs promoting actual fixes, such as strong families and outreach programs for youngsters in trouble?

The question is how would the State execute this kind of action? The majority of elders, except for 3 per congregation (or 3 per congregation group in multi-congregation Kingdom Halls) are not listed anywhere officially. Sure they could go after the registered officers of the corporations but they, for obvious reasons, likely don’t legally have access to the records.

A few months later, Ukraine is invaded, Zelensky shuts down their connection between Europe and Russia, Nordstream blows up, suddenly the US is shipping 40% of its strategic oil reserve to China and Europe and Europe is demanding massive oil from the Saudis and Africa.

Who gets the majority of contracts, the company that recently purchased all the capacity on the market, Unipec, a subsidiary of Sinopec. Sinopec is wholly owned by the Chinese government. Meanwhile we recently found out from Republican House investigations that private equity firm, BHR Partners, founded and currently still held by the president’s son, Hunter Biden, invested $1.7 billion in Sinopec.

There is obviously no direct evidence, it just happens that Biden family investments always happen to make weird moves before major events and happen to always do very well when Joe is in some form of office.

this morning she was questioning something that was said in the annual meeting part 2 and i looked it up for myself.

( feb 23 ) at timeline 1:37 the claim is in the new world jesus and the 144000 will raise the dead and just shortly after that the claim is jesus and the 144,000 will read hearts.

Having talked to a few JW, they definitely pick up on it, and they accept it as if it has always been gospel. JWs that still trust solely in the Bible are either voluntarily or involuntarily leaving, the young generation is being taught that the Bible cannot be trusted without the WT intervention.

Jerusalem had kings after Zedekiah. Currently they even have a Jewish “king”.
So shouldn’t this prophesy be fulfilled by now, regardless of the calculation that is used?
